Wildlife watch at Langford Lakes

Today I was invited to a local kids Wildlife Watch group to see the work they do!

We started out by looking at some bird skulls and matching them to different species before discussing why they are shaped like they are in regards to the different diets of species 🐞🐭

Then we headed outside and I gave a little talk on binoculars and how to use them! I brought along some pairs of Opticron binoculars which the kids were using and I showed them different birds including Tufted ducks, Cormorants and Mute Swans through a scope which one of the leaders brang along!

It was a really lovely morning and great to see so many kids enthusiastic about wildlife and the outdoors! πŸ’š
