I am super excited to be the winner of this years National Biodiversity Network’s Young Person’s Award for Wildlife Recording! 🥇

I spend all of my free time out undertaking wildlife surveys (such as water voles, butterflies, wetland birds, bees and farmland birds), small mammal trapping, bird ringing for the BTO and volunteering for so many other wildlife and nature organisations and charities, so to get an award and recognition for it is very exciting!! 🏆🙌

I wanted to say a massive thank you to Inés Lopez-Doriga (pictured above) who is the main person who got me into wildlife recording by taking me along to all of the surveys she does! She has taught me so much about surveys, how to undertake the properly and the particular species we have recorded! Inés’ enthusiasm for wildlife recording and surveying really inspired me to get out and do the same!

A big thank you to the sponsors of the award: @opticron, @birdpoty, Michael Hoppen and @wmcollinsbooks!
Very well done Izzy – CONGRATULATIONS !!
