Red admiral butterfly

The red admiral is an unmistakable garden visitor. This beautiful butterfly may be seen feeding on flowers on warm days all year-round. Adults are mostly migrants, but some do hibernate here.

They are a common butterfly with a wingspan of 6.4-7.8cm!

In my garden there are always red admirals on the buddleia! They are always the first and last butterfly I see of the year!

To get these photos I used my Nikon D90 camera and Tamron 70-300mm lens!
